Armed with Triple J airplay on back to back singles, support from some of Australia’s most trusted music tastemakers (Scenestr, Happy Mag, Forte) and ongoing placement in playlists with thousands of global followers, Sydney singer/songwriter Callan John is gathering steam and now presents his 6th single in as many months: a shameless, heart-on-sleave folk-rock ballad titled ‘Run Away’.

Callan first wrote the song 8 years ago to a girl he'd fallen head over heels for but who as living on the other side of the world. Frustrated that all their plans to meet kept falling through, he thought that maybe if they could just run away everything would work out.

Now, with the help of legendary producer Tim Carr (Matt Corby - ‘Brother’), ‘Run Away’ has been brought to life and it marks chapter 6 of a mostly-true tale Callan is telling via the one-song-per-month release of his 9-track mixtape, ‘L89’ (Latey Nine).
